Description

Python Builders (Online Class) 

 

For ages 10-14. 

 

Students take their Python skills to the next level by building larger, more complex games. 

In Python Builders, students will be challenged to combine their Python coding skills with game design concepts, and build games using the “grown-up” PyGame game engine. Students will learn and apply complex coding concepts such as: 

  • Writing a PyGame game loop 
  • Applying complex control flow 
  • Using libraries and functions 
  • Debugging 

Students are also exposed to additional educational technologies, such as coding with controllers and Micro:bits. 

 

Skill Level 

Intermediate – students should have repeated experience with Python, coding concepts, and typing, and have successfully passed the Python Explorers level. 

 

Requirements 

Students will need: 

  • A Windows, Mac, or Linux desktop or laptop computer, with internet access, and can install Thonny.
