Type of Program: Digital Makers

Length of Course: 2 hours, with a 10-minute break halfway through.

 

About This Course

Your child will take their persuasive writing and communication skills to the next level with graphic design!

In this course, your child will:

  • Create designs to spread an idea, sell a product, or spur an action
  • Improve their creative design skills as they learn about important design elements such as layouts, spacing, fonts and colors
  • Advance their knowledge on the importance of imagery in messaging
  • Learn several effective strategies for persuasive writing
  • Strengthen their critical thinking skills and learn how to spot persuasive writing in advertisements and online posts
  • Learn and use vector graphics software to design a high-quality digital pamphlet
  • Meet new friends and learn about their diverse interests
  • Have an absolute blast!

 

Course Requirements:

  • A desktop or laptop computer with reliable internet connection
  • Webcam, microphone, zoom and a few other supplies to ensure a safe and seamless learning experience (please read: what is needed for online learning)
  • An email address
