About This Course
This is a FREE event for students and friends of Discover Coding, in celebration of our new location at the Advanced Technology Centre in South Edmonton.
We are working towards creating more programs to advance and nurture your youth in their coding and technology journey so they can be leading in our future digital world! What better way than to host a mini-hackathon!
We will be talking to students and parents to get know you and your goals for setting your kids up for fun and success in their coding and technology journey. Parents are invited to stay have drinks and snacks in the open area, then see the team presentations at the end.
Students, ages 10-14, will work in teams to solve problems with code and technology. They will use their creative problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions to a problem. The goal is to work in teams to create a functioning prototype by the end of the event. Each hackathon event will have a specific theme or challenge that will be announced at the event. The purpose is to foster innovation and collaboration in a fast-paced and fun environment.
