Description

Take your coding and problem-solving skills to the next level with a “grown-up” language!

Python Discoverers is a 10-session program (2 times a week for 5 weeks), for students in grades 4 to 9. Students should have experience with block-based coding and are ready to progress with text-based coding with Python.

Join us as we guide students through the fundamentals of computers, computing science, logic and coding. Students will learn the basics of the Python programming language along with Jupyter notebooks – the same modern tools used by universities and technology companies.

We will be connecting to many number-sense concepts from the Math Program of Studies, using technology.

Students will be learning Python programming language and computer science concepts, such as:

  • Basic data types
  • Basic arithmetic operations and control flows.
  • Variables
  • Loops
  • Debugging

 Requirements:

  • Students must have access to a computer with internet access.
  • Students must have an email address.
  • Connection instructions will be set via email after registration.
