For ages 10-14.
How can students take their coding game and problem solving skills to the next level? They can learn a “grown-up” language!
In Python Discoverers, we will guide students through the fundamentals of computers, computing science, logic, and coding. Students will learn the basics of the Python programming language along with Jupyter Notebooks — the same modern tools used by universities and technology companies.
We will integrate many number-sense concepts from the math curriculum, using technology.
Students will learn various computer science concepts, such as:
Basic data types
Basic arithmetic operations and control flows
Variables
Loops
Debugging
This is a 10-session program that runs for two weeks. Each session is 1.5 hours long.
Skill Level
Students should have experience with block-based coding and are ready to progress with text-based coding with Python.
Requirements
Students will need:
Access to a computer with internet access
An email address
